We only stayed for one night, so we did not have much interaction with the staff. Everyone we did have a chance to meet was very friendly. Our room was around back, #9. It was spotless and the bed was very comfortable. There is a veranda outside the room with chairs and a ceiling fan if you want to relax outside. There is also a hammock. The pool is not a huge swimming pool but large enough to cool off and enjoy. For breakfast, they served cereal, boiled eggs, yogurt, fruit such as bananas and oranges, local pastries and there is a toaster for bagels and toast. The location is one block from Duval. Parking is the usual Key West search. I don’t fret about it, having been there many times. I just know you will have to drive around to find a spot and it may not be close to where you are staying-for me, no big deal. We had dinner at Mangoes, which is not far from Merlin and it was quite tasty. I had the shrimp and scallops. Another place I enjoyed is by the marina, called BO’s. It is just a little covered shack but I saw a lot of people. All of the seafood is local fresh caught and it tasted great!
